The Staten Island Tide joins the ACBL for its inaugural season in 2010

The Tide looks to create a fan-friendly atmosphere at its 20 home games at the CSI Baseball Complex on the campus of the College of Staten Island. The combination of a quality facility, expert coaching, and elite college players from the top baseball programs throughout the region are expected to bring a top-level summer college baseball experience to the Staten Island community.

On the field, the Tide will be led by Tommy Weber, former coach at Wagner College and and St. Francis (NY) College. St. Francis Athletics Hall of Fame coach Frank Del George will serve as the team's pitching coach.

The 2010 Tide Opening Day roster will include eight Staten Island natives. Tottenville High School grads Joe Cassano, Pat Gale, and John McNeil will be joined by Monsignor Farrell alumni Frank Esposito and Joe Conforti, Moore Catholic grad Dillon McNamera, Poly Prep alum Francis Torres, and Xavier grad David Rees. In addition, Wagner College players Mark Holmes, Eddie Brown, and Ian Karlsson will also be members of the Tide in 2010, making a total of 11 players with Staten Island connections.

Off the field, the Tide's board of directors include Sal Cassano- Fire Commissioner of the City of New York and Don Croce of Legends Hospitality Management - exclusive hospitality provider of the New York Yankees.

The Tide launches the 2010 season on Wednesday, June 2nd against North Jersey at Ramapo College. The Tide will play their first home game in team history on Thursday, June 3rd at 7:00pm at the CSI Baseball Complex on the campus of the College of Staten Island.
